New Orleans, LA, November 18, 2009 Press Release: Erroll Williams, Third Municipal Assessor, has announced his candidacy for New Orleans first citywide assessor. If elected, he promises to be a fulltime assessor. For the past twenty-four years, he has honorably served the citizens of one half of the city’s property owners. Prior to being elected assessor in 1985, he served as both Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Finance for the City of New Orleans. As Assessor, he has always been fair and equitable, made easy access to the public’s assessment records and always ran a modern, friendly and cost-efficient office. Williams feels public service is a public trust. He will continue to have an open door policy with both property owners and other elected officials. He will continue to work with the Louisiana legislature to preserve the homestead exemption. A graduate of the New Orleans public schools along with degrees in Accounting from Dillard University and a Master of Business from Tulane University. Williams holds membership in many professional and social organizations. He is married to the former Cynthia Rich for 37 years and the father of two children. The election is on February 6, 2010.
